Admissions
Understanding the Admissions Process
Seeking help is a courageous first step. At CrossRoads of Southern Nevada, our admissions process is designed to guide you from first contact to the right level of care — whether detox, residential, outpatient, or transitional housing. We begin with a triage assessment to ensure each person receives the most appropriate and safe level of treatment.
Admissions Criteria
Triage is the beginning of our admissions process. During triage, we collect initial information to determine immediate needs and next steps. Every individual will be assessed to determine whether detox, residential, outpatient, or another service best meets their needs. We admit adults (18+) who are struggling with substance use and related behavioral health concerns, including those who are court-referred.
What to Bring / Cell Phone Policy
- EID & Insurance Card — Bring valid identification and any insurance information.
- EPersonal items & medications — Pack comfortable clothing, personal hygiene items, and prescription medications in original containers (staff will secure and manage prescription meds as required).
- ECell phones: You may bring your cell phone. If you are admitted into an inpatient level of care, you will not be allowed to use your cell phone; staff-supervised access may be possible depending on clinical needs. If you are assessed for outpatient care (with or without housing), there will be restrictions on when and where phones can be used, but you may bring your device. If your phone has a camera, respect the anonymity and privacy of others — only take photos with explicit permission and do not post images on social media.
What to Leave at Home
- Bedding & Towels — Not required; we provide these.
- Valuables — If you need to bring valuables, please note: for inpatient stays we can secure items in our safe for you, but CrossRoads is not responsible for loss or damage to valuables. For housing placements, you may keep valuables on your person or in your room; however, we are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage. Please bring only essential items.
Smoking, Internet & Other Practical Details
- Smoking — Smoking is not allowed inside the facility. Designated outside smoking areas may be available after initial acute care.
- Internet & laptops — Internet access is available at higher levels of care. We recommend not bringing a personal laptop for initial admission during the blackout period.
Transportation & Arrival
If you need transportation from McCarran Airport, a CrossRoads company van may be available — contact admissions to arrange pickup. We do not have on-site parking for long-term vehicle storage, so plan to arrange off-site parking if needed. Bring your ID and insurance information to intake.
